Trustee setup and Wi-Fi Configuration

Your Trustee is a simple device that works on your behalf to authenticate you and seamlessly assert your identity to all your services. Be sure to setup your Trustee in your own home. Even if you received your personal Trustee from your employer, it is intended to support your identity across all your services. Having your personal Trustee in your home gives you ready access to it whenever you need it. Your Trustee doesn't require a lot of "care and feeding", but taking a few easy steps now will allow it to continue working for you uninterrupted. Let's get started!

Step 1: Plug in your Trustee as close to your Wi-Fi router as practically possible.
This will maximize the strength of its connection, and minimize interferences from other appliances (such as microwave ovens). Locate it where you can keep an eye on it. While you won't need to interact with it often, it will let you know when your attention is needed. You Trustee should begin blinking red when you plug it in. That indicates that your Trustee has power and is ready to be configured.

Step 2: Enroll your identity on the Mesh
If you haven't already done so, download and install the Mesh In Preview app on your iOS or Android smartphone to become a member. Once you have created your mesh identity you will be asked if you are ready to link with your Trustee. Select "Link with my Trustee" to begin the configuration process. If you are already a member, tap the "Link Now" button on the Mesh In Preview app homescreen to connect your Trustee to Wi-Fi and link your phone with it.

Step 3: Select a Wi-Fi Network for Configuring your Trustee
After choosing to link, follow instructions in the app to enter the name and password (if required) for your home Wi-Fi network. You must select a 2.4 GHz network. Your Trustee can ONLY connect to a 2.4 GHz network.

Step 4: Colorstream Configuration Instructions to your Trustee
Your Mesh In app will use a special process called "colorstreaming" to transmit messages to your Trustee. The app will ask you to prepare to colorstream and begin counting down. Place the screen of your phone against the face of the Trustee before the countdown is completed. The phone will vibrate while colorstreaming is underway. Once colorstreaming is complete (vibration will cease) you can remove the phone from the face of the Trustee. This should not take long. Colorstreaming will generally not take more than about 10 seconds. If you were able to successfully colorstream the message, the Trustee will blink Green. If your Trustee did not properly receive the message, it will blink Red alerting you to try again.

Follow instructions in the app for how to proceed from here. Your app will let you know once the configuration has been successful. Your Trustee will also begin blinking blue indicating that it is online and that your phone has been linked with it.
